Edo State governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Engineer Derek Izedonmwen has joined the league of Nigerians to identify with school children in the State on the occasion of the 2024 Children’s Day celebration marked on 27th of May.
The Govérnorship hopeful in a goodwill message in commemoration of the Children’s Day while reflecting on his own childhood, said he was privileged to receive a solid educational foundation under the universal education system established by the administration of Professor Ambrose Alli in the defunct Bendel State, now Edo and Delta states.
Engineer Izedonmwen stated that the foundation has been crucial in his journey, demonstrating the liberating power of education, which is propelling him to aspire to a higher office.
The Edo State AdDC governorship candidate said he is committed to ensuring every child in the State, no matter his or her background, receives the same opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.
Engineer Izedonmwen, who described education as the cornerstone of any thriving society, noted that the legacy of Professor Ambrose Alli is a reminder of the transformative power of accessible learning.
He asserted that his commitment is to ensure every child in Edo State has access to quality education, particularly in core subjects namely Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
The ADC Govérnorship Candidate stated that under his leadership, no child will be left behind, will reduce the number of out-of-school children and ensure the educational system prepares a technology-ready workforce to lead Edo State.
