The people of Iyanomo Community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State have denied alleged involvement in unauthorized demarcation of layout in the community.
In a statement by the Ozukpogieva, Pa Sunday Ohiengbonmwan, and youth leader, Iyayi Eboigbe, the people described a media report by Enogie of Oye-Iyanomo, His Royal Highness, Alfred Erhauyi Osagie, of demarcating layout in the community, did not state the obvious but aimed at tarnishing the image of the people.
According to the statement, they only graded the access road from the express to the village to make it motorable and evacuated the refuse at the entrance into the village, as the people are peace-loving and would not take the laws into their hands.
They said the dukedom consists of two villages, Oye and Iyanomo, with separate Oguedion, and the Enogie cannot continue to take decisions without the input of elders of Iyanomo.
While pledging continuous loyalty and appealing to the Oba of Benin to come to their aid, they urged members of the public to disregard the allegations.
The statement said they decided to make the clarification for the Oba of Benin and the public to know the actual position of happenings in the village.
