Nicholas Ukachukwu has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Anambra State and will fly the party’s ticket at the November 8, 2025 governorship election.
The results announced by the Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee and Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, after the primary that ended on Sunday showed an overwhelming victory for Ukachukwu.
Ukachukwu scored One thousand, four hundred and fifty-five votes to defeat his closest rival, Valentine Ozigbo, who scored Sixty-seven votes, Johnbosco Onunkwo scored twenty-six votes and Edozie Madu scored eight votes, while invalid votes were twenty-six in the primary that began on Saturday.
In his acceptance speech, Ukachukwu thanked President Bola Tinubu for ensuring a hitch-free and transparent intraparty election process.
He also commended the APC National Working Committee, Otu and his team, his co-contenders, and all delegates for their roles in the successful conduct of the primary.
