The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has said the All Progressives Congress will not participate in the Osun state local government election slated for February 22 because the Court of Appeal has reinstated the chairmen and councillors and they would soon return to office.
He urged the security agencies to enforce the judgment of the Court of Appeal and ensure that the newly reinstated council officials return to their seats.
Oyetola who spoke to journalists after addressing party members at his campaign office in Osogbo, commended the judiciary for returning the sacked council chairmen and councillors, assuring that they will toe the line of justice to return to office.
The former governor of Osun state also advised members of his party, APC, who had trooped out to welcome him, to prepare for the 2026 governorship election.
Oyetola who expressed optimism that all the reinstated council officials will return to their offices through the instrumentation of law, urged them to remain law abiding.
