A statement by the Esere of Benin , Chief Stanley Obamwonyi says the Fasting and Prayer Programme is to appreciate the Almighty God for the Peaceful Conduct of the Edo State Governorship Election amd warding off of all forms of Evil out of the Land .
The Statement adds that the Fasting and Prayer Programme is also in line with Bini Age long Tradition that before the Commencement of the Consumption of the yearly Emorho of new Yam it is imperative to Pray and Fast to God Almighty amd the Royal Ancestors for bountiful Harvest as well as to shield the People away from sudden Death Peace and Tranquility in Individual Homes , Families,States and Country at Large.
The Statement also invites Bini Sons and Daughters in the Diaspora to also join in the Two Week Fasting and Prayer Programme, which begins from 6 AM and ends 6 PM Daily.
The Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, prays God Almighty and the Ancestors to grant Peace and Happiness for the People as they embark on the Fasting and Prayer Programme.
