A socio-political organization, Esan Liberation Forum, has admonished the Edo State governorship candidate of the PDP, in the September twenty-first Edo State governorship election, Asue Ighodalo, to withdraw his lawsuit at the Appeal Court against Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
A statement in Benin City, signed by The National President, Esan Liberation Forum, Chief Sunday Aghedo, says both Governor Okpebholo and Asue Ighodalo are supposed to be kinsmen and should not allow personal interest to come in between them and the people they wish to serve, as they both hail from Esanland.
The statement, which chided the PDP governorship candidate for allegedly deliberately distracting the State governor, admonished him to desist forthwith and support his brother and Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, whom they said has brought outstanding socio-economic development to Esanland and Edo State in general.
The statement urged Dr. Asue Ighodalo to demonstrate that he is truly an Esan man by supporting the development across Esan land and Edo State under Senator Okpebholo.
They expressed satisfaction over the dualization of Ekpoma-Irrua-Uromi-Ubiaja old road and the construction of the road linking Edo central senatorial district with Edo North senatorial district, passing through Uromi.
While commending the three-man panel at the Edo Election Tribunal which re-affirmed the election of Governor Monday Okpebholo, the Esan Liberation Forum said the judgement is a true reflection of the wish of Edo people, as Governor Monday Okpebholo is God-sent.
