Governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Bala Mohammed has sacked five commissioners in a cabinet reshuffle.

A statement by his media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, in Bauchi today attributed the action to the burning need to enhance governance and ensure optimal service delivery.

The reshuffle affects Dr Jamila Dahiru, Commissioner for Education; Abubakar Bununi, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs; and Usman Danturaki, Commissioner for Information and Communication.

Also, Prof. Simon Yalams, Commissioner for Agriculture and Yakubu Hamza, Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation were relieved of their positions.

Gidado said the action reflected the governor’s commitment to injecting new ideas and energy into governance, in line with his vision to strengthen government machinery to address emerging challenges.

Gidado said the governor also forwarded the list of eight commissionership nominees to the state House of Assembly for approval.
