For two days, the First Secretary, Hoath Amy and the Serious and Organised Crime Project Coordinator, Anne Ebinum of the British High Commission, Lagos, paid a working visit to the Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ) Secretariat in Benin City.
The purpose of the visit was to obtain firsthand insights into the success stories, for challenges, and sustainability plans of the Brighter Futures project from ANEEJ, the Crime Prevention Steering Group, Crime Prevention Partners members, Delivery Partners, and Target Beneficiaries.
On the first day, the delegation from the British High Commission met with the ANEEJ team at the Secretariat. Senior Management Staff, Mary Igharo, welcomed the visitors on behalf of the Executive Director, Reverend David Ugolor.
The State Coordinator for the Brighter Futures Project, Sandra Eguagie delivered a comprehensive presentation on the project’s implementation in Edo State
She provided an overview of the successes achieved, challenges encountered, and recommendations for improvement, detailed sustainability plans for ensuring the continuity of the project’s impact.
The visit was concluded with an interactive session at the ANEEJ Secretariat.
The visit underscores the collaborative efforts between ANEEJ, its partners, and the British High Commission in advancing initiatives that foster resilience, economic empowerment, and crime prevention.
