Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has been commended for the significant strides recorded in his first hundred days in office.
In a statement, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Pius Alile said Governor Okpebholo has set an unprecedented record of performance, exceeding expectations and silencing critics as he demonstrated zero tolerance for insecurity, providing logistics and morale-boosting support to security agencies.
Mr. Alile stated that the governor’s ongoing construction of a flyover in Benin City, the first of its kind, and the completion of abandoned road projects across the state are eloquent testimonies of his commitment to transforming the state.
He outlined reforms in the education sector which include an increase in the monthly subvention to Ambrose Alli University from forty-one million Naira to five hundred million Naira, renovation of classroom buildings in one hundred primary and secondary schools, and the appointment of five hundred secondary school teachers.
The Edo State Deputy Chief of Staff says the ninety billion Naira earmarked for agriculture in the 2025 budget and the abolishing of market unions, leading to a dramatic reduction in food prices, shows Governor Okpebholo is a listening Governor.
