Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has directed heads of administration in the twenty three local government areas to take over from the elected chairmen whose three year tenure elapsed on Monday.
Governor Fubara gave the directive in a state broadcast on Tuesday in portharcourt, the river state capital.
He said the decision lies with the Constitution’s provision and the need to ensure peace and order in the state.

Meanwhile the state governor after the state executive meeting has vowed that he will never allow anybody to arrest any of his supporters no matter how highly place they are.
