The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted large quantities of cocaine, skunk, and other illicit substances concealed in mattresses and vehicle parts.

The NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, announced this in a statement shared via his verified X handle on Sunday.

The agency showed a video of the drugs, stressing that the discovery highlights the creative tactics employed by drug smugglers, as the agency continues to intensify its efforts to curb the illegal drug trade across the country.

This is coming five days after the chairman of the agency, Brigadier-General Buba Marwa, Retired, revealed that the South-West geo-political zone of Nigeria has the highest number of illicit drug use, followed by the South-South, South-East, North-West, and North-Central, respectively.
