The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo has paid a condolence visit to the families of victims, who were killed by a mob in Uromi in Kano State.

Speaking during the condolence visit, Governor Okpebholo described the attack as unfortunate and reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The Governor who condemned the dastardly act assured the bereaved families and the people of Kano State that justice will be served and and prayed for the eternal rest of the victims’ souls.

He also disclosed that significant progress has been made in the investigations with 14 suspects arrested so far noting that President Bola Tinubu has also directed security agencies to go after the culprits and assured that justice will prevail.

In response, the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf commended Governor Okpebholo for his swift intervention and support to the bereaved families from two local government areas in Kano State.

He said the tragedy serves as a lesson to all and urged all leaders across Nigeria to ensure the safety and protection of all citizens, regardless of their ethnic group .

Speaking on behalf of the Arewa community in Edo State, Badamasi Saleh reaffirmed the longstanding cordial relationship between the northern community and Edo people, emphasizing that the unfortunate event should not be used to tarnish the State’s image.

Leader of the Edo community in Kano State , Fred Akhigbe also expressed appreciation for Governor Okpebholo’s visit, urging both communities to maintain peace and unity.
