Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a woman, Abigail Oluwarotimi, for inflicting injuries on a teenager working in her house, Jude Joseph.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Moses Yamu, said the woman used metal objects in the fire to inflict bodily injuries on the boy, and as a result, the victim sustained injuries on his lap and genitals.
The command said the suspect was promptly arrested, and she confessed to the crime.
She blamed her actions on the allegation that the boy molested her children. The victim is currently receiving treatment.
The PRO said the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Umoru Ozigi, has shown concern about the development and has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough and discreet investigation.
The command warned the public against taking the law into their own hands while emphasizing the importance of allowing the law to take its course.
