Edo State Government has described claims by the state chapter of the PDP that the State is “under siege” and that “lawlessness is now the order of the day” as exaggerated and misleading.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Okpebholo Fred Odianosen Itua said the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo remains committed to ensuring the safety of all residents and has taken decisive steps to enhance security across the state.
Itua enumerated some key initiatives by the administration to include the reorganization of the State Security Network, improved collaboration with law enforcement agencies, and increased investment in modern security infrastructure.
He said concerns about market disruptions and illegal revenue collection are being addressed through structural reforms in the transport and revenue sectors noting that Governor Okpebholo welcomes constructive criticism and values diverse perspectives on governance which should be grounded on facts rather than politically driven misinformation.
