The elders and people of Iguoshodin N’Ebudin community in Ovia North East Local Government of Edo State have again said that Ogbeson is not a separate or autonomous community from Iguoshodin N’Ebudin community.
In a statement by Edwin Aibangbee Esquire, a solicitor to Iguoshodin N’Ebudin community, the elders and people of the community insisted that Ogbeson is a quarter in Iguoshodin N’Ebudin and not independent, distinct, or autonomous, contrary to beliefs in some quarters.
According to the statement, this position has been re-iterated by the Benin Traditional Council via a document dated fourth November 2021 that was further certified on the ninth of December 2024, wherein it is stated that Ogbeson is a quarter in Iguoshodin N’Ebudin community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State and that the Odionwere of Iguoshodin N’Ebudin oversees all the quarters in the village.
The statement appreciated the police for its investigations into the matter, especially for meeting all relevant bodies in the course of their assignment.
It advises that anybody who has any dealings with or in Ogbeson quarters without reference to the Odionwere of Iguoshodin N’Ebudin community does so at his or her own risk.
