The national electricity grid collapsed again on Monday evening.
The grid collapsed at about 6:18 pm on Monday, leaving the masses in darkness.
Information made available says power generation dropped from three point eight-seven gigawatts at 5 pm to three point five-six gigawatts at 6 pm.
The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company confirmed the grid collapse in a statement on Monday evening.
This is about the fifth grid collapse in 2024.
The Executive Director, Electricity Consumer Protection Advocacy Centre, Princewill Okorie, regretted that the grid keeps collapsing despite the hike in electricity tariff.
Mr. Okorie lamented that unmetered customers would still be made to pay for the period of the collapse, wondering what the government has been doing to stop the incidents.
