The Esama of Benin and Honourary Romanian Consul to Edo and Delta States of Nigeria, His Excellency, Sir, Chief, Doctor Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedíon CFR has felicitated Christians in Edo State and all over the world on the occasion of Easter, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Esama of Benin in his Easter Message urged Christians to imbibe the virtues of Jesus Christ and truly love others.
Chief Igbinedíon stated that Easter symbolises the triumph of hope over despair, love over hate and condemnation, and optimism over cynicism.
While pointing out that Easter exemplifies the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ to save mankind, the Esama of Benin said Christians must take into consideration the welfare of others.
He urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love, sacrifice and selflessness pervading the season, which should reflect on the lives we live and how we relate with fellow human beings.
He said Easter is another opportunity for Christians to reciprocate the enduring sacrifice by intensifying prayers and promoting peace, love, unity and progress in the country.
