The Executive Director of Project Implementation at the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Remi Omowaiye, on Monday escaped assassination by a whisker along the Osogbo/Ilesa road.
The incident occurred around 2:05 PM in front of Ilesa West Local Government Area when the ex-Commissioner for Works was en route to Osogbo.
Remi Omowaiye, narrating his close encounter with death, disclosed that his driver and a policeman sustained gunshot injuries.
He said he was returning to Osogbo from Ilesa when his convoy ran into an ambush in front of Ilesa West Local Government, adding that attackers shot at where he was sitting on the bus while bullets shattered the side windscreen.
He also disclosed that the reinstated chairman of Ilesa East’s car was also attacked on the spot where he was ambushed.
Omowaiye demanded that those involved must be brought to justice.
