Federal University of Technology, Akure has emerged champions of the Inter-University invitational football tournament organised by Nigeria’s Premier Private University, Igbinedion University, Okada.
The Akure-based side defeated their host, IUO football team five – three on penalties.
Osemudiamen Osagie reports that the football tournament which is part of activities to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the ivory tower had the Deputy Chancellor, Igbinedion University Okada and former two-term governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion and Vice-Chancellor Igbinedion University Okada, Professor Lawrence Ezemonye among other dignitaries in attendance.
