Illushi community in Esan Southeast local government area of Edo State has been submerged.

The residents of the community, in a riverine area on Tuesday reiterated their appeal to both Edo State and Federal Government to come to their rescue and find a lasting solution to the yearly occurrence of the overflow of the river Niger.

Edo Central Correspondent, Chris Omijie reports that residents have fled the community for safety.
