Food Security: Reps Committee Advocates For Improved Livestock Sector

The House Of Representatives’ Committee On Livestock Development Has Advocated An Improved Livestock Sector As A Pathway To Food Security In The Country.

At The Inauguration Of The Committee Recently, Chairman Of The Committee, Honourable Wale Raji, Lamented The Inadequate Attention Given To The Sector, In Spite Of Its Enormous Potentials.

He Said The New Committee Was Due To The Creation Of The Federal Ministry Of Livestock Development By President Bola Tinubu.

Raji Estimated That The Livestock Sector Produces 563 Million Chickens, 58 Million Cattle, 124 Million Goats, 60 Million Sheep And 16 Million Pigs Annually.

The Committee Chairman Advocated For Diligence, Transparency, And Commitment To Excellence For The Betterment Of The Sector.
