Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has expressed worry over the deepening political crisis in Nigeria, blaming it on court rulings, which is turning the cone of justice upside down.
The former President, who was speaking at the sixty-seventh birthday celebration and fifty-book presentation of renowned human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Professor Mike Ozekhome, also warned Judges not to be swayed by political antics.
Dr. Jonathan noted that recent court judgments in political matters have thrown the country into disarray, particularly referencing a ruling that empowered a ward chairman to expel a national chairman of a political party.
He called on the Supreme Court to revisit the decision, stressing that such actions threaten the stability of the nation’s political system.
The former President congratulated the legal luminary, Professor Ozekhome, describing him as an extraordinary person with special talents and knowledge to impact.
