The Governor of Edo State Mr Godwin Obaseki has commended the vision of the Governor of the defunct Bendel State Late Brig. Gen Samuel Ogbemudia which established Bendel State Newspaper, now Nigerian Observer.

Mr Obaseki gave the commendation at the inauguration of the New Office Mansion of the Nigerian Observer Newspaper and the state-of-the-art, Edo Printing Press on Airport Road, Benin City.
