Hardship: World Bank Says Nigeria Needs 15 Years To Transform Economy
The World Bank Has Said That Nigeria Must Maintain Its Ongoing Economic Reforms For The Next 10 To 15 Years To Launch Itself As A Leading Economic Power, In Sub-Saharan Africa And Global Stage.
The Senior Vice President Of The World Bank Group, Indermit Gill Gave The Advice At The Opening Ceremony Of The Ongoing 30th Nigerian Economic Summit In Abuja. Gill Said That These Reforms Are Crucial For Ensuring Sustainable Growth And Development, Allowing Nigeria To Compete With Other Emerging Economies Worldwide. He Noted That While Implementing These Reforms Will Be Challenging, It Is Essential To Persevere.
While Also Commending The Central Bank Of Nigeria, Cbn For The Unification Of The Exchange Rates, Gill Called On The Federal Government To Provide Cost-Effective Safety Nets To Protect The Most Vulnerable People From The Hash Impact Of The Reforms.
