A non-governmental Organization, Health of Mother Earth Foundation (HOMEF), has held a Nigerian Culture and Food Festival in Benin City to promote local healthy and indigenous food consumption.

Sunny Duke Okosun reports that the food festival, which was held at Precious Palm Hotel, Ugbowo, showcased local cuisine vis-à-vis their nutritional values towards strengthening awareness of the health hazards inherent in Genetically Modified Foods or GMO foods.
