As part of the grand celebrations marking the Ninetieth birthday of the Chancellor of Igbinedion University, Okada, His Excellency, Sir Chief Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom, a remarkable act of community service has been initiated.
In a move that reflects the philanthropic spirit of the Esama, the Vice Chancellor of Igbinedion University, Professor Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye, has announced a five-day Free Surgical Outreach to benefit the people of Okada and neighboring communities in Ovia.
This outreach, scheduled to take place from Monday, Nineteenth August to Friday, Twenty-third August, 2024, will be hosted at the Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, Okada.
According to a statement by the organisers, the free surgical outreach will commence from Nine am to four pm daily, offering an opportunity for individuals in need of surgical interventions to receive expert medical care without the burden of cost.
Chief Medical Director of Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, Doctor Ya’u Abubabaar Gagarawa will lead a dedicated team of highly skilled surgeons and other medical professionals in performing a range of surgical procedures.
Speaking on the upcoming outreach, Professor Ezemonye highlighted the significance of the initiative as not only a tribute to the Esama’s legacy of giving but also as a direct means of enhancing the well-being of the people of Ovia.
The Free Surgical Outreach is expected to cater to patients of all ages, addressing various health concerns through timely and professional medical intervention.
