The 16th Emir of Kano, Dr. Muhammadu Sanusi II, has condoled with the government and people of Jigawa State following the Majia petrol explosion, describing it as a sad moment for the people of the state.
The monarch, who led a large delegation of his cabinet members on a condolence visit to Governor Umar Namadi, said the incident, though an act of Allah, has left many voids in the lives of the people.
He expressed particular concern over the number of youths affected by the tragedy, hoping the government would take proactive steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The Kano monarch, accompanied by the host Emir of Dutse, Hamim Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, said he has come to express his deepest condolences to the people of Majia on behalf of the Kano emirate.
The Emir said the visit has become necessary because of the long-standing relationship between Kano and Jigawa states, and considering that the District Head of Majia is our younger brother in Kano.
In response, the governor described the visit as inspiring and thanked the monarch for his presence.
