Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, the Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, was arrested on Friday but has since been granted bail by the police.
Reports indicate that Rimingado was detained for several hours at the Zone One Police Headquarters in Kano, during which he was questioned before being granted conditional bail around 11 PM.
He has been instructed to report to the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Monday for further questioning.
The trial, which began in November 2023 at the Kano High Court under the supervision of Justice Hafsat Yahaya, has resulted in the seizure of properties believed to be connected to the case.
