The leadership of Iyekeze Community in Ovia North East Local Government Area, Edo State, has called on landowners to avail themselves of the opportunity for a land verification exercise, which will commence next week Monday.

In a statement jointly signed by the Odionwere, Pa Festus Aimufia, and the Okhaighele, Omozusi Sunday Aifuwa, said the land verification exercise, which will commence Monday, April 7th, will take place from ten in the morning to five in the evening.

According to the statement, the verification exercise, which will last for two months, will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

The statement explains that affected persons include those that acquired land from the community twenty years ago and are advised to come with their original documents of proof of ownership and purchase.

The Odionwere, Pa Aimufua, and the Okhaighele, Omozusi Aimufua, warned that only the authorised Executive, led by the new Okhaighele, has the prerogative to deal with any prospective buyer, as anything contrary is at the risk of those involved.

They also advised that no cutting corners will be tolerated.
