Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been inaugurated as the Seventh governor of Ondo State.
Mr. Aiyedatiwa’s inauguration is marking the beginning of his first full four-year term after replacing Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who died in office in 2023.
The ceremony took place at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, the state capital, two months after he won the governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The governor thereafter rode in an open jeep around the complex, waving to cheers from supporters.
Speaking shortly, Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciated his successor, who he once served as Deputy Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, for shaping his life for the task of governing the state.
He promised to continue to work for the good of the people of Ondo State and sued for their support in bringing quality governance closer to the people.
The inauguration was witnessed by the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, and some governors of the same party.
