There was pandemonium on Sunday in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, as a petrol-laden tanker exploded, leaving several people feared dead and many houses razed.
Warri Correspondent Gbenga Ahmed reports that eyewitnesses at the scene said the tanker driver was attempting to make a turn on the busy Old Lagos-Asaba Road. Unfortunately, the tanker overturned near the First Bank axis of the road and burst into flames.
Eyewitnesses said several houses, vehicles, motorists, and some residents were engulfed in the fire.
Some residents and passersby were helpless in their attempts to put out the fire.
As the fire raged, residents of the area appealed to the Delta State Government to intervene.
