The general public has been notified that the stretch of land at Obayantor Two Community, Kilometer twenty-four, Benin-Sapele Road, Benin City, in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Edo State, bordering Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, Obasuyi College Road, and Ologbo Forest Reserve, covering an area approximately consisting of one hundred and three hectares of oil palm plantation and factory, belongs to the late Obaruduagbon of Benin Kingdom, Chief Augustine Omoregie Obasuyi, and A. O. Obasuyi And Sons, Sawmill Limited.
The general public is further informed that all that parcel of land measuring approximately 35 hectares within the Ologbo Forest Reserve, BC 25, also belongs to the same persons, which said parcel of land is a subject of litigation against some trespassers in CHARGE NO. B/CD/318C/24 pending before the Criminal Division of the High Court, Edo State, sitting at Court 5, Benin City.
A statement by Reeves O. Obasohan of R. O. Obasohan & Co, Olive Chambers, Solicitors and Notary Public, 98, Sokponba Road, Benin City, says the said parcel of land was acquired through a Deed of Lease on the 10th of September, 1979, between the defunct Bendel State, now Edo State, and their clients, which is registered as No. 42 at page 42 in volume 294 of the Lands Registry in the office at Benin City.
The statement asks the public to take notice, therefore, that any person or group of persons, or companies who purchase any part of the said parcels of land, or trespass into any part thereof, or purports to deal with any part of the said parcels of land in any manner whatsoever without the consent and authority of the owners, the late Chief Augustine Omoregie Obasuyi, and A. O. Obasuyi And Sons, Sawmill Limited, does so at his or her own risk and will be prosecuted in accordance with the provisions of the law.
The statement warns that trespassers, land grabbers, and land speculators are advised in their own interest to steer clear of the aforementioned parcels of land in their own interest.
