The Rivers State Police Command has promoted One hundred and nineteen Police officers to various ranks.
The State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju who made this known while presiding over the ceremony in Port Harcourt, said the officers were promoted based on their hard work and dedication to the Force over the years.
According to him, the newly promoted officers were found worthy of elevation by the Police authorities, stressing that the promotion is a call for them to do more in protecting the image of the Police, as the “reward of hard work is more work.”
Adepoju warned the officers against negligence, corruption and human rights infringement, adding that the Command will not hesitate in dealing with anyone found wanting.
He charged the officers to relate more with members of the public and embrace community policing wherever they find themselves and commended the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Police Service Commission for their efforts in rebranding the Force for effective service delivery.
