Seventeen political parties participating in the forthcoming Governorship election in Edo state have nominated only Forty-four thousand, six hunred and eighty-seven of the eighty thousand, four hundred and ten agents required for the elections.
This is contained in data released by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC on Thursday and signed by itis National Commissioner in charge of Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun.
According to the released date, Edo State has four thousand, five hundred and nineteen polling units and two hundred and eleven collation centres, comprising one hundred and ninety-two ward centres, eighteen Local Government centres and the State collation centre in Benin City.
Consequently, a political party fielding candidate in the election is expected to nominate Four thousand, seven hundred and thirty agents.
Olumekun said three political parties uploaded the details of their agents for all levels of polling and collation while one party has no single agent for any level of voting or collation.
