
His Royal Majesty, Ewuare the Second, Oba of Benin, has congratulated the Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on the occasion of his first hundred days in office as Governor of Edo State.
In a congratulatory message, Chief S. O. Obamwonyi said the Oba of Benin, with profound gratitude to God Almighty and the ancestors, said Governor Monday Okpebholo’s 100 days in office as Governor of Edo State is, without any iota of doubt, successful.
He said the victory of Governor Monday Okpebholo at the polls was a watershed in the electoral history of the state and a divine answer to the prayers of the people. According to the statement, shortly after inauguration, Governor Monday Okpebholo reversed unlawful, wicked, and inappropriate actions, thus putting an end to the schism between the Benin Traditional Institution and the state government.
The statement adds that history will forever remember Governor Monday Okpebholo for his statesmanlike acts of lawfulness, and respect for the traditional institution of the Benin people, especially his restoration of the statutory rights of the Oba of Benin and the abrogation of the Executive Orders which sought to balkanize and disunite Edo South Senatorial District.
