A former Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Ajayi Agboola , has emerged as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for the November sixteent governorship election in the state.
The chairman of the committee saddled with the responsibility of conducting the primary election, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjajpo announced Mr. Ajayi as winner of the contest.
He polled two hundred and sixty-four votes at the primary election of the party held at the international culture and events center popularly known as the Dome.
former member of the house of representatives, Kolade Akinjo came second scoring one hundred and fifty-seven votes.
Also, a former commissioner for the Environment, Chief Ebiseni Olusola, trailed behind with 99 votes, while Engr. Adeolu Akinwumi polled 64 votes to come third and fourth,
Ajayi served as deputy governor to late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in his first tenure in office from 2016 to 2020 before they fell out.
