As the local government elections commenced across the 17 council areas of Plateau State, a large turnout of electorates exercising their franchise was recorded in the state.
The officials of the Plateau State Independent electoral commission arrived at the various pulling units early and commenced the exercise at the stipulated 8 in the morning official time.
Security personnel, party agents, and election observers, both local and international, are all on the ground monitoring the exercise.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has exercised his franchise in the ongoing local government elections in the state, assuring citizens that their votes will count.
Mutfwang gave the assurance after casting his vote in Ampang West, Mangu Local Government Area of the state at exactly 9:15 a.m.
