The Kwara State Police Command has charged three dismissed police officers to court, for alleged conspiracy and culpable homicide.

The three accused persons, Abiodun Kayode, James Emmanuel, and Oni Philip, were arraigned before a Kwara State High Court on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by DSP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, Police Public Relations Officer in Kwara State.

The statement read that the three accused persons face charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide in connection with the death of Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola.

They have been remanded in prison custody, pending further court proceedings.

Earlier, the Kwara State Police Command vowed that it would prosecute the three police officers found guilty of allegedly killing Ishola, an ND II student of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, in the court of competent jurisdiction.

Ishola, a 21-year-old student of the Department of Electrical Electronics of Kwara State Polytechnic, was allegedly murdered by the police during a stop and search operation at the Fate area of Ilorin on September 4, 2024.
