
The Kebbi State Police Command has successfully neutralised four suspected kidnappers, arrested one, and rescued a sixty-year-old man, Umaru Bawa, in Suru Local Government Area of the state.
The police also recovered Three million Naira, which had already been paid as ransom.
A statement made available to newsmen on Saturday by the spokesman of the command, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, said the incident occurred on February 14, 2025, when armed men stormed Gobiraje village in Suru Local Government Area and abducted Bawa.
It said a gun battle ensued between security forces and the kidnappers, leading to the neutralization of four kidnappers and the arrest of one suspect with fatal injuries.
The statement added that other suspects escaped with gunshot wounds into the forest while the police rescued the kidnapped victim unharmed.
