The Inspector-General of Police IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, has cautioned police officers against misconduct and gross violation of human rights.

Egbetokun frowned against such acts having received various complaints regarding breaches of human rights.

He vowed that the force would not tolerate any act of violation, assuring of several consequences.

The IGP also warned all tactical squads against the misuse of power and improper dressing, emphasizing the importance of operating in approved uniforms.

The High Police Command has denied return of the dreaded Special Anti-Robbery Squad SARS which was disbanded on October 11, 2020 saying the Body remains dissolved.

A statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi says the Special Anti-Robbery Squad is not back in operation insisting that the recent information regarding SARS reformation and rules of engagement should be treated with caution.

He said Nigerians are encouraged to verify the source of any information before accepting it as true.

The IGP promised to address several pressing issues which aim to bolster the ethical and professional conduct of police personnel across the nation.
