His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo Ukuakpolokpolo Oba Ewuare the second has expressed deep Appreciation to the Government of Edo State for restoring his full statutory Rights.
A letter of appreciation to the Governor of the State Senator Monday Okpebholo endorsed by prominent Benin Chiefs, including the Osuma of Benin, Norense Ozigbo-Esere,Oliha of Benin, Edionwe Oliha, Esere of Benin, Stanley Obamwonyi ,Obazelu of Benin, Osaro Idah amongst others Chiefs, said the Honour is notably significant
Oba Ewuare the Second expressed immense gratitude to the Governor for supporting the Federal Government of Nigeria’s decision through a Gazette, recognizing the Oba of Benin as the exclusive owner of all returned Benin artefacts looted by the British Colonial Forces during the 1897 Benin massacre.
The paramount traditional ruler on behalf of the Benin Royal family and the entire people of Benin Kingdom, hailed the State government for abolishing the so-called new traditional Councils in Edo South Senatorial District created by the immediate past administration and the withdrawal of the letter revoking the concession of Oba Akenzua the second Cultural Centre in Benin and other issue of concern.
The Omo N’Oba prays for God Almighty to continue to strengthen and guide the Governor as he continues to bring about meaningful and robust transformation of Edo State
