Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Funsho Adegboye has condemned in strong terms the shooting that occurred at the Benin airport on Thursday that left a police officer dead and several others with various degrees of severe injuries.

According to the Edo state police boss, politicians and their supporters should stop dragging the police into their political crisis by ensuring they play the game according to the rules.

He stressed that the death of the police officer could have been avoided if the aggrieved politicians have allowed the court judgment to be pursued to a logical conclusion.

While praying for the repose of the late police officer, CP Adegboye said investigation is ongoing and all those involved in the shooting will soon be arrested.
