The suspended Enogie of Egor community, Tony Aigbehiomwan, has tendered an apology to His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, over the issue that led to his suspension.

In a statement, Tony Aigbehiomwan expressed his apology to the Benin Monarch that he temper justice with mercy, as he did not understand the content or the implications of the letter he signed alongside his counterparts in other communities.

Tony Aigbehiomwan, who regrets the impact his action may have caused, said he was misinformed with the grammatical terms contained in the letter, following his knowledge in the Italian language.

According to the statement, the suspended Enogie is not in the habit of undermining the highly respected tradition and the tenets of the Benin traditional council and, as a people, stand for values, integrity, and utmost respect for tradition.

He said he recognizes the seriousness of the situation, so he does not want to take it lightly and therefore remains committed to making things right.

The suspended Enogie of Egor, Tony Aigbehiomwan, swore an oath of allegiance to be faithful, committed in the discharge of his duty, and loyal to the revered Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II.

He used this medium to seek the forgiveness of His Royal Majesty, Ewuare II.

Tony Aigbehiomwan expressed readiness to undergo any form of sanction meted out on him so he can be recalled from suspension.
