It has been a war of words between the Traders of Ogbogwu Drugs Market in Onitsha , Anambra State and the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control , NAFDAC, over Continuous closure of some Medicine Shops over alleged gross violation of Laws regulating sales of Across the Counter Medicine and outright indulgence in Sales of Fake and Expired Medicine.

Whereas NAFDAC has debunked several accusations by traders of the Onitsha Drug Market, Anambra State, after the raid to sanitize the market, describing it as a smear campaign, the Traders have embarked on Protest to ask for Rescue saying imposition of a N2 million fine on each trader before allowing the market to reopen, among others are measures too draconian for them to remain in Business

NAFDAC’s Deputy Director in charge of Administration in the Zone Mr Onyeka Moses whereas they have decided to sanitize Distribution and Sales of Common Medicine in the Area many of the Traders are very unrepentant adding that recently the Agency publicly burnt Fake and Expired Medicine over a Billion Naira Worth
