The Elders of Ogunmwenyin Community in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State have advised land developers, investors, and all persons engaging in land or other business transactions related to the community to be wary of some land speculators parading themselves as working for the Odionwere of the community.

A statement by the second in command or Ozokpogieva of the community, Pa Benson Okoro, and other elders including Pa Victor Ivbivbie and Pa Lawrence Idiaghe said there is currently no Odionwere or anybody acting on behalf of Ogunmwenyi community since the demise of the former Odionwere.

According to the statement, until a new Odionwere is officially installed by His Royal Majesty, Oba of Benin, no one has the authority to parade himself as the Odionwere of the community.

It advised the public to cease from all forms of business dealings, particularly those involving land matters, with any individual or group claiming to represent the community as Odionwere or otherwise.

They urged the public to strictly adhere to this warning in order to be victims of fraud or illegal transactions stressing that whosoever does anything contrary will be at the detriment of such persons.
